Robertson Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

D3hoops.com Release

BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball captain Keenan Robertson made history as he became the first Ram in program history to garner a spot on the d3hoops.com team of the Week for his outstanding performance in a 2-0 week, the national organization announced.

Robertson averaged 32.0 points, four rebounds and four assists that propelled Suffolk past Western New England and Wentworth last week.

The Team of the Week is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 28th season, of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

The Rochester, New York, product opened the week with a 27-point performance in Springfield, Massachusetts in which he shot 50 percent (9-17) from the field. Four of his 27-plus points came at a crucial moment; down three with six seconds remaining, the guard swished a near 30-foot triple, drew a foul and sunk the freebie to send the Rams past the Golden Bears, 65-64.

Four days later, the senior put together a 36-point, four-rebound effort to help Suffolk handle Wentworth, 95-69. The offensive output was his fourth 30-plus point game of the season and seventh of his collegiate career.

Robertson, the first member of Suffolk men's basketball to pick up the accolade from D3hoops.com, is the third student-athlete from the Conference of New England (CNE) recognized by D3hoops.com this season as Endicott's Marcus Montagnino and WNE's Jake Harrison were both named to the organization's Team of the Week earlier this season on Jan. 20 and Feb. 10, respecticvely. University wise, Robertson is the first male to receive the distinction and is the second Ram in the University's history as Georgia Bourikas of Suffolk's women's basketball team toom home the honor Dec. 11, 2017.

Robertson and the Rams wrap up their regular season road schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Hartford at 7:30 p.m.
