RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk handled Hartford Wednesday, 78-55, to move to 9-5 on the year and 5-2 in CNE action, good for a share of second in the league standings.
Keenan Robertson has proven to be an all-around player with team-leading numbers in points (20.1) and rebounds (8.6) per game. He also dishes out 2.7 apg. Danny Yardemian is a main factor into the offensive output as well with 10.5 ppg to his credit as well as a team-best 3.9 apg. Defensively, the grad student gets in the passing lane with 1.2 spg. Jake Gomez is a two-way player with 8.4 ppg and 6.6 rpg, which is good for second on the squad on the glass. Nick Verdile, meanwhile, adds 9.6 ppg to the team's 72.3 ppg.
LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth (3-11) knocked down a near buzzer-beater Wednesday night to slip past Nichols, 72-71. That win was the Leopards third of the of year and moved WIT to 2-5 in CNE contests.
The twosome of Tyler Stewart and Jack Connell have proven to be scoring forces for the Leopards. Stewart averages 24.6 ppg and Connell contributes 21.4 ppg. The latter also helps set-up the scoring with 4.7 apg. Russell Dolabany is in the scoring conversation as well with 12.1 ppg. There is no change in leadership on the glass as Stewart's 10.3 rpg leads the way to average a double-double.
