BOSTON – Nichols proved to be too much for Suffolk men's basketball as it handed the Rams a 90-76 Commonwealth Coast Conference setback Thursday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.
THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 76 | Nichols 90
Records: Suffolk (6-6, 1-4 CCC) | Nichols (7-5, 3-2 CCC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Cole LeVangie sunk the first bucket of the evening, which kept Suffolk in the driver's seat through the first five minutes, which was a back-and-forth affair.
After the lead flip-flopped, the Bison took control with 13 unanswered points to grab a 24-11 advantage at the 11:10 mark that grew into a 36-18 deficit with 6:18 remaining in the first frame.
The Rams never found their offensive grove to head into the half down 45-26.
Five minutes out of the locker room, Suffolk managed to chip the gap down to 11, 52-41. Nichols regained the comfortable cushion behind a 12-2 spurt that allowed the visitors to coast the rest of the way to the 90-76 victory.
