
BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball ran its win streak to three in a row with a. 65-58 Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Wentworth at Tansey Gymnasium Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first five minutes were back-and-forth with Wentworth clinging to a 7-6 edge. The Leopards leapt ahead to a 21-10 advantage with just under nine minutes to play before half time.
Suffolk played its way out of the double-digit margin and leveled the playing field at 27-all with 2:53 left in the first half. A Cole LeVangie trey and a William Rowe layup were sandwiched around a WIT hoop that sent the Rams into the locker room with a 32-29 lead.
The second half was more balanced and it showed as the scored tied four times and the lead flipped twice. First Wentworth regained the upperhand at the 6:53 mark and just over a minute later Rowe recorded a layup to push the Rams in front, 52-51.
This time, the blue-and-gold did not let the advantage slip away despite all the Leopards efforts.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Rowe registered 15 points to power Suffolk's scoring. The graduate student went 7-for-7 from the field and grabbed three boards.
- Keenan Robertson tallied 14 points on a 6-for-14 showing from the floor to go along with eight caroms, two helpers, two steals and one block.
- Aidan Sullivan chipped in 11 points, seven assists and three rebounds.
- LeVangie notched 12 rebounds, six points, three handouts and two takeaways.
- Conor Creane had a well-balanced effort of eight points, eight boards, three assists and one steal.
- Suffolk shot 44.6 percent (25-65) on the night, but struggled from the free throw line, converting just 53.3 percent (8-15) of its foul shots.
- Wentworth, who shot just 37.1 percent on the evening had three players in double figures in Tyler Stewart (17), Jack Connell (15) and Jack Schaake (14).
- The Leopards outrebounded the Rams, 41-39.
- Suffolk turned WIT's 13 turnovers into 14 points.
- Wentworth scored 38 of its 58 points in the paint.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk defeated Wentworth for the first time in the Jeff Juron era and first since Nov. 23, 1999.
- The Rams moved to 11-7 all-time versus the Leopards.
- Suffolk is 5-3 at WIT.
- LeVangie recorded a career-high 12 rebounds.
