Robertson Named CCC Player of the Week

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Keenan Robertson of the Suffolk men's basketball team nabbed Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week after his standout showing in the Rams season opener a 105-65 convincing triumph over Salem State Saturday.

The sophomore from Rochester, New York, paved the way for the blue-and-gold in its 40-point victory over the Vikings. The small forward logged a career-high 30 points on an impressive 81.3 connection rate (13-16) from the floor, that included a 3-for-4 showing on the long ball. His stat line was one rebound short of a double-double with nine caroms to go along with four dimes and a personal-best three takeaways.

Robertson was a crucial cog in Suffolk's highest offensive output on opening day since the 1991-92 season as the Rams surpassed the 100-point mark in its first game of the year for just the fourth time in program history, according to the Rams game-by-game record book, which goes back to the 1867-68 campaign.

The victory, that leveled the all-time series with Salem State at 11-11, was also Suffolk's first back-to-back win over SSU since piecing two wins in a row over the Vikings Jan. 25, 1979 and Jan. 22, 1981.

Robertson earned the first weekly award of the year for Suffolk. It is the second weekly recognition on his trophy shelf as he took home CCC Rookie of the Week Feb. 21, 2022. He is the only player to take home a weekly nod from the CCC in program history. He is the first Ram to garner the best player over a seven-day stretch title from a conference since Jim Djema picked up GNAC Player of the Week Dec. 18, 2017.

Suffolk, who began its year in the win column for the sixth straight season, is back in action Wednesday, Nov. 17 when it hits the road for the first time in 2022-23 with a trek to Colby Sawyer. Tip-off in the Granite State is scheduled for 7 p.m.
