Duffy Represents Men’s Basketball on All-GNAC Third-Team

WINTRHOP, Mass. – Thomas Duffy of the Suffolk men's basketball team wrapped up his collegiate career with a spot on the All-GNAC third-team, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Over his career Duffy has helped Suffolk to a number of milestones and achievements with his senior season being no different. Once again the Rams were in the post-season picture, making the field for the eighth straight season after going 6-5against conference counterparts. The seventh seeded Rams had a tough draw with second seed Albertus Magnus, but had hope as the blue-and-gold bested the then-No.19 Falcons, 81-68, in the regular-season matchup Feb. 1. In a back-and-forth battle, Suffolk fell 82-79 at Albertus Magnus to end its final year in the GNAC, 14-12.

Since earning a spot in the starting line-up as a sophomore Duffy proved his worth on the hardwood and did so again this season and it shows with his third-straight all-league honor. The Fairfield, Connecticut, native had an all-around campaign with 11.2 point per outing to go along with a team-best 4.2 assists per, which were good for fourth amongst conference counterparts. Defensively, he supplied 3.8 caroms per contest to go along with 1.2 takeaways per game.

Throughout his record setting career, he became the 30th member of Suffolk's 1,000-point club, owns both the most points scored in the Jeff Juron era, with a 39-point performance against Maine Farmington Nov. 18, 2018, and the highest point total by a student-athlete in the GNAC tournament after dropping 33 in the 2018 semifinals at Johnson & Wales. In 98 games played, he has totaled 1,247 points to sit 16th on the all-time charts and his 329 career assists are the third-most in the Rams' career annals. He is the first player to collect three all-conference accolades in his career since Matt Pepdjonovic earned four, one of his years at Suffolk from 2009-13.

Cameron Powers represented the Rams on the conference's all-sportsmanship, which was established to honor one player from each team in the conference for outstanding dedication to sportsmanship and for their portrayal of good sportsmanship, fair play and positive attitude. The recognition is second for Powers in his career, who earned the honor as a sophomore in 2017-18.

Since joining the GNAC ranks in 2000, Suffolk has earned 27 All-GNAC honors including three rookies of the year, 11 first-team, five second-team and eight third-team selections.
