BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball will cap off its 2019 schedule portion in front of its home crowd at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Saturday, Dec. 14 in a cross city clash with UMass Boston. The Rams and Beacons battle is scheduled for 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's basketball could not hold off a second-half rally by Roger Williams as the Rams fell to the Hawks, 80-67, Tuesday night at the Rec Campus Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk dipped to 5-4 on the year after falling at Roger Williams, 80-67, Tuesday night.  

The Rams 78.0 ppg offense sees a quartet in double digits with a team-high 13.9 ppg from Nate HaleThomas Duffy supplies 11.8 ppg with William Rowe and Brendan Mulson rounding out the foursome with 10.6 ppg and 10.0 ppg, respectively. 

Mulson leads the way on the glass with 6.8 rpg to anchor the 33.9 rpg squad effort. Rowe adds 4.0 rpg to the defensive unit. 

BEACONS BREAKDOWN
After surprising NCAA Division I foe Holy Cross 69-66 in overtime to open the week Tuesday, UMass Boston fell to Tufts, 71-49, Wednesday night to head into Saturday's showdown 5-3 on the year.  

The Beacons are putting in 65.4 ppg as a squad with the trio of Charles Mitchell (16.6 ppg), Dasan Cinelli (11.6 ppg) and Michael Boyd (11.0 ppg) providing double figures per outing. Charlie Mitchell (9.6 ppg) and Malik Lorquet (9.0 ppg) are on the verge of breaking the double-digit mark average as well. 

Defensively, Lorquet's 10.6 rpg anchors the UMB's 39.6 rpg effort. Cinelli and Charlie Mitchell are consistent contributors on the glass as well with 6.0 rpg and 5.5 rpg. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Saturday's showdown marks the 30th meeting between the Rams and Beacons since the inaugural matchup in 1990. 
  • The Rams have coupled back-to-back victories together to chip away at UMass' all-time series lead, 20-10.
