Mulson’s Double-Double Highlights Men’s Basketball’s 68-56 Win at Regis

WESTON, Mass. – Brendan Mulson knocked down a double-double effort to power Suffolk men's basketball to a 68-56 victory over Regis Saturday afternoon at Higgins Court.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 68 | Regis 56
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-3) | Regis (1-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jonathan Eng hit a trey for Suffolk 40 seconds into the game, beginning an 8-2 Ram run that started the visitors on the wire-to-wire victory. After the Pride closed to within four at 19-15 on a layup by Cam Wilkins, the Rams rattled off seven unanswered points, punctuated by a dunk from William Rowe to extend its lead into double digits, 26-15.

Wilkins converted a traditional three-point play, but the Rams quickly responded with nine straight points to open a 35-18 advantage. The Rams would reach their largest lead of the game three minutes into the second half at 42-22 thanks to Eng's second triple of the day and a layup by Rowe.

Jalen Watson started a 7-0 Pride stretch with a bucket from behind-the-arc, but Suffolk would later reestablish a 19-point cushion on bunnies by Jarret Byrne and Max Bonney-Liles. Regis scored 11 consecutive points over the next three minutes to cut the distance to eight. Nate Hale responded for the Rams with a three with four minutes remaining in the second stanza to seemingly put the game away for the blue-and-gold.
