Men’s Basketball Quartet Garners NABC Honors Court

NABC Release

KANSAS CITY, Mo.
– For the second straight season, four members of the Suffolk men's basketball team picked up academic accolades with National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors court recognition. Seniors Steven DiPrizioJim Djema, and Michael Hagopian and junior George Grillakis each appeared on the list that the national organization released Wednesday afternoon.

To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must have been either a junior or senior academically and had maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The three seniors, DiPrizio, Djema and Hagopian, who graduated last May, DiPrizio, each earned the nod for the second time in their careers, while Grillakis was honored for his work in the classroom for the first time. Suffolk's four student-athletes are the most among GNAC honorees with both Saint Joseph's (Maine) and Regis seeing a three and one student-athletes, respectively, taking home the feat.

Suffolk has seen eight student-athletes combine for 11 NABC Honors Court nods in the Jeff Juron era dating back to the head coaches' first season in 2015-16.
