BOSTON – The Suffolk men's basketball team clashes with GNAC and Boston rival Emmanuel Thursday, Jan. 18 as part of a Rams' doubleheader. The women's team opens action at 5 p.m. against Norwich with the men's squad battling the Saints in the nightcap at 7 p.m.

DOUBLEHEADER
For the third time this season, Suffolk's basketball teams will take part in a doubleheader. The women's team gets the action underway at 5 p.m. versus Norwich with the men's team capping the action off at 7 p.m. against Emmanuel. 

Both teams are 2-0 when playing on the same day inside Regan Gymnasium this season. 

LAST TIME OUT
Trailing by as many as 18 with under 10 minutes remaining, the Suffolk men's basketball team made a late push, but it wouldn't be enough as the Rams fell to the Pride of Regis, 65-54, Saturday afternoon at Higgins Court.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk slipped to 7-6 on the year and 2-2 in conference contests with its setback at Regis Saturday. 

The Rams offense, which puts together 71.2 ppg as a team, relies on the duo of Thomas Duffy and Michael Hagopian. Duffy leads the team with 16.1 ppg with Hagopian tallying 14.7 ppg. 

In his rookie campaign, Brendan Mulson has been a force on both sides of the hardwood, bringing down a team-best 5.7 rpg to go along with 9.7 rpg. Kevin Querusio and Duffy add to the Rams' 32.6 rpg effort with 4.6 rpg and 4.2 rpg, respectively.

SAINTS SAYINGS
Emmanuel (2-11, 1-5 GNAC)  snapped an 11-game losing skid Tuesday night as junior guard Joe Tamburro scored a season and game-high 25 points to lead a team 73-66 victory over Johnson & Wales. The win marked the Saints second of the season and first since a 76-70 decision over Curry Nov. 21. 

Emmett Riddick's 16.4 ppg lead Emmanuel's 70.2 offensive output with Tamburro also adding double figures with 14.8 ppg. 

Defensively, Tamburro's 4.9 rpg lead with the way with Marcus Fox and Riddick adding 4.6 rpg and 4.3 rpg, respectively.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk split its regular-season showdowns with Emmanuel last season – winning the first 80-69, and losing the second, 56-54. Overall, the Saints lead the all-time series, 24-9.

EYES ON THE GAME

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Suffolk is unbeaten in front of its home crowd this season, earning six of its seven wins in Regan Gymnasium; Brandeis (75-67), Saint Joseph's (Maine) (68-56), Lesley (61-46), UMass Boston (79-69), Framingham State (93-66) and Norwich (83-66). 

The Rams are outscoring their opponents, 76.5-61.7, when playing on the friendly confines of the Larry E. Smith and Michael S. Smith court thanks to a  48.0 field goal percentage at home.
