BOSTON – Thomas Duffy of the Suffolk men's basketball team has been nominated for HeroSports.com DIII HERO of the Week after putting up three 20-plus point games to open the 2017-18 season. To vote for Duffy, click here

In a three-game week, Duffy, a sophomore averaged 23.7 ppg, while shooting 50 percent (23-46) from the floor and an impressive 62.5 percent (10-16) from three-point range. Defensively, he pulled down 2.3 rpg with 1.7 spg.

Duffy got the season started on a high note, putting together a career-high 25-point performance to lead the Rams to a 75-67 season-opening win over Brandeis. The victory not only marked the first day one triumph in the Jeff Juron era, but the first time the Rams opened a campaign with a win since 2014-15. Suffolk also took down Brandeis for the first time since 2001. In the win, Duffy shot 52.9 percent from the field and knocked down a career-best four triples, shooting 80.0 percent (4-5) from downtown to lead Suffolk's attack.

The guard from Fairfield, Connecticut opened action at the Williams Tip-Off Tournament versus Stevens with a 24-point effort shooting just under 50 percent at 46.7 percent (7-15), while matching his career-high threes with his second straight contest with four.

Duffy wrapped up action in Williamstown, Massachusetts, with a 22-point day versus Salem State. He shot 50.0 percent once again going 7-for-14 from the floor and from long range (2-4), while going 6-for-8 at the charity stripe.

The Rams and Duffy look to return to the win column as they visit Boston Commons neighbor Emerson Tuesday, Nov. 21 in a pre-Thanksgiving tilt set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
