Men’s Basketball’s Alumni Game Welcomes Back Former Rams

BOSTON – Prior to the final Suffolk basketball header of the 2016-17 season Saturday morning, the men's basketball team welcomed back its alumni to Regan Gymnasium. The annual event bridges the gap between the former Rams to the current 2016-17 squad.

The unity was in the air as the alumni got together and played the game they love. As the game ensued, many of the friends and family members, and current Rams got to cheer on the former Suffolk standouts again.

Nearly 20 players put on their blue-and-gold once again for a competitive, down-to-the-wire scrimmage on the Larry and Michael Smith Court. Despite a last-ditch effort from the white team with multiple Hail Marys, the blue held off the comeback to take the friendly contest, 69-62.

While winning on the court is significant, the lessons learnt from working with a team are what the former Rams are able to take with them onto their careers and they were sure to pass this knowledge onto today's student-athletes.

The event preceded Suffolk's basketball double feature with the women's team tipping things off at 1 p.m. against Saint Joseph (Conn.), followed directly by the men's squad squaring off with Anna Maria at 3:15 p.m.
