Men's Basketball Rolls Past Wheelock, 100-85

The Suffolk University Men's Basketball team exploded for 60 second half points to cruise to a 100-85 victory over Wheelock College in non-league action on Saturday afternoon at the Regan Gymnasium.

Five players scored in double digits for the Rams, including senior Sam Nwadike (Houston, Tx.) who finished with a team-high 29 as Suffolk picks up their second win of the 2014-15 season. Nwadike was 10-for-12 from the field to go along with a 9-for-10 shooting performance from the free-throw line as Suffolk rounded out the game connecting at a 54.7-shooting percentage from the floor in the victory.

Junior Jake Meister (Madison, N.J.) narrowly missed a triple-double as he posted 17 points and had a game-high 14 rebounds. He also posted a team-high five assists. Sophomore Matt Duquette (Swampscott, Mass.) also recorded a double-double as he scored 13 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Freshman Quinn McCartney ( LaCrosse, Wis.) added 20 points off the bench for Suffolk, highlighted by a 6-for-8 performance from the field in the second half.

Junior Adam Chick (Northbrook, Ill.) added 10 points while fellow classmate Caleb Unni (Winchester, Mass.) chipped in with nine for Suffolk.

Sophomore Anthony Williams (White Plains, N.Y.) was 12-for-14 in the game from the floor as he posted a team-high 29 points for Wheelock.

Sophomore Nicholas Fenton (East Hartford, Conn.) came up just an assist shy of a double-double posting nine helpers to go along with 18 points in the game.

Four players recorded double digit scoring totals for the Wildcats. Alongside Williams and Fenton were sophomore Matt Eason (East Hartford, Conn.) with 12 points, and sophomore Derek Fournier (Johnston, R.I.) with 10.

Suffolk held a 52-27 edge on the glass in the game.

The loss drops Wheelock to a 1-3 mark on the season. They'll be back in action on Tuesday evening when they host Wentworth at 7:00pm.

Suffolk will be idle until after the Thanksgiving holiday when they welcome New England College to the Regan Gymnasium on Sunday for a 1:00pm tip-off.
