Frantz Pinard, Simon Leahy Earn Rookie of the Year Honors

A pair of freshmen earned Rookie of the Year honors as Frantz Pinard (Arlington, Mass.) of Men's Basketball was named the best first year player by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), while Simon Leahy (Milwaukee, Wis.) took the ECAC Northeast Hockey Award.

Leahy finished the season tied for the team lead with 19 points as he scored nine goals and also registered 10 assists on the year. He was second among freshman scorers in the ECAC Northeast Hockey conference, while leading the league with 13 points in-conference action, also a team-high. He was also named to the league's All-Rookie Team.

Pinard finished the season scoring 10.4 points per game in 25 games for Suffolk. Pinard averaged 11.4 point per game against GNAC opponents on the season. He was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week on three separate occasions during the 2013-14 season. He was also the Rams' leading rebounder averaging 5.4 boards per game as well as a team-high 0.4 blocks per game on the year.

Suffolk finished the 2013-14 season with a 9-15-1 overall record. The Rams were the number five seed in the ECAC Northeast Playoffs as they posted a 6-7-1 conference record.

Suffolk finished the season with a 9-17 overall record. Suffolk was the number seven seed in this year's GNAC Tournament as they had a 6-12 record in GNAC play.
