The Suffolk University Men's Basketball team erased an 18-point deficit in the final eleven minutes of regulation to take an 83-77 victory on the road against the Norwich University Cadets in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday evening.

Sophomore Jake Meister (Madison, N.J.) scored all 13 of his points in the second half as part of the comeback, while junior Sam Nwadike (Houston, Tx.) led all scorers with 20 points on the evening.

Norwich controlled much of the first half of play as they shot at a 65.5-percent clip as a team from the field taking a 49-41 lead into the break. Sophomore Gary Gladden (Boynton Beach, Fla.) paced the Cadets with 13 points through the first 20 minutes of play, while senior Tom McDonald (Groton, Mass.) was 4-for-5 from the floor for 10 first half points.

McDonald and the Cadets would open the second half with an 11-2 run over the first five minutes as the senior guard put in seven points during their scoring attack to help build their lead to 17 points, 60-43 with 14:26 remaining on the clock.

At 6:53 freshman Grant Brown (Whitinsville, Mass.) went to the free-throw line and connected on both of his attempts to give the Cadets a 70-57 lead. It would take the Rams just three minutes to regain the lead as they put together a 14-0 run as Meister capped it off with a three-pointer to make it a 71-70 contest with 3:54 left on the clock.

Gladden would answer putting in a layup and Suffolk would come back down the other end of the floor with sophomore Caleb Unni (Winchester, Mass.) making a three-pointer to put the Rams back up for good.

Meister would sink his second trey of the half at the 2:18 mark to give the Rams a five-point, 77-72 advantage before Unni and freshman Frantz Pinard (Arlington, Mass.) would clinch the game as they each made succesful free-throw attempts when sent to the line in the final minute of play.

Pinard finished the game with 14 points on a 5-for-8 shooting performance from the floor.

Meister finished the evening with a team-high seven rebounds. Suffolk held a slight 34-31 advantage on the glass in the game.
