Men's Basketball Roll Past Norwich 78-58

The Suffolk University Men's Basketball team rolled to a 78-58 victory over the Norwich University Cadets on Monday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Senior Chris Torres (Brockton, Mass.) led all scorers with 26 points in an 11-for-16 effort from the floor to pace the Rams to their third conference win of the season and snapping an eight game skid.

Torres would connect on four three-pointers in the second half as the Rams pulled away over the final twenty minutes of play outscoring the Cadets by 15 points.

Senior Colin Halpin (Melrose, Mass.) recorded 23 points in the win, while freshman Caleb Unni (Winchester, Mass.) added 10 as he shot 5-for-6 from the free throw line.

The Rams held a distinctive advantage on the glass in the contest as they outrebounded the Cadets, 50-25 with senior Matt Pepdjonovic (Quincy, Mass.) posting a game-high 12 boards.

Pepdjonovic also made some history on Monday evening as he had a pair of blocks now making him the all-time leading shot blocker among GNAC Men's Basketball players with 210 in his career. Pepdjonovic surpasses former Rivier College player Don Poitras '12, who held the previous mark of 209.

Pepdjonovic also added eight points on the evening bringing his career total to 1,357 moving him into 10th place all-time in Suffolk University Men's Basketball history.

Suffolk will be back in action on Thursday evening as they travel to Rivier College for a 7:00pm matchup with the Raiders.
