Men's Basketball Earn Playoff Berth

The Suffolk University Men's Basketball team (8-17, 6-12 GNAC) earned the seventh seed in the 2010-11 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) playoffs.

The Rams will travel to Providence, R.I. on Tuesday evening to take on the second-seeded Johnson & Wales University Wildcats (17-8, 14-4 GNAC).

Despite a 97-65 at the hands of the Albertus Magnus College Falcons (16-9, 14-4 GNAC), the Rams clinched a playoff berth earlier in the afternoon as the Wildcats dropped the Emmanuel College Saints.

Sophomore Matt Pepdjonovic (Quincy, Mass.) recorded another 20-20 effort in Saturday's loss as he finished the game with 21 points and 21 rebounds. Sophomore Colin Halpin (Melrose, Mass.) also chipped in with 19 points, while junior Justin Barall (East Hampton, Conn.) had 13 points and seven assists.



The GNAC Quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday evening at 7:00pm. The winner moves on to Thursday's semi-finals, with the GNAC Finals played on Saturday.
