Boston, Mass. – Suffolk Men’s Basketball freshman
center Matt Pepdjonovic (Quincy, Mass.) started
the second half of the season right where he left off in 2009 being
named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week
on January 11.
Pepdjonovic, who has earned the conference weekly honor for the
fourth time this season posted his sixth double-double in ten
games, scoring 17 points and adding 12 rebounds in the Rams’
84-74 overtime victory over Lasell College on Saturday
afternoon.
Pepdjonovic has been one of the most dominating forces in the
conference to start the season. The 6’6 center is currently
the leading rebounder in the conference with a 12.3 rebounds per
game average, and seventh among all NCAA Division-III players (as
of January 3). His 16.0 points per game average also ranks tenth
among leading scorers, while his .561 shooting percentage is ranked
fifth.
The Rams (5-5 overall, 1-2 GNAC) head into a big stretch this
upcoming week with four GNAC games in the next seven days. Suffolk
will host Emmanuel College Tuesday evening at 7:30pm at the Regan
Gymnasium and then welcome Norwich University on Thursday evening
at 7:30pm. The Rams will travel to Newton on Saturday to take on
Mount Ida College at 3:00pm before rounding off the week hosting
Rivier on Monday the 18th at 3:00pm.
