Suffolk Men's Basketball Visit Local Area Schools

The Suffolk University Men's Basketball Team visited two local area
elementary schools during the week of January 5th.  The first visit was to
the Montclair School in Quincy, where the players visited both a
kindergarten and a second grade class.  The players worked on reading with
the kindergartners and math with the second graders, and then everyone met
in the gymnasium for some basketball drills and fun.

The second visit the team made was to the William E. Russell School in
Dorchester and marked the fourth year Suffolk Head Coach Adam Nelson and his
Rams visited the students of the Russell, where Nelson's wife, Deb, teaches
fourth grade.  The "skills and drills" began with the Suffolk and Russell
students partaking in a classroom math activity together.  The groups then
went into the school auditorium for some basketball drills and contests.
The morning culminated with a question and answer session, where the Suffolk
student-athletes addressed topics ranging from academics to physical
fitness.
