Nashua, NH -- The Suffolk University Men’s Basketball team
dropped their third conference game in a row, falling to Rivier
College 93-75 Tuesday night on the road.
The Rams got a big performance from senior forward Brian Small (Stoughton, MA)
who had a season-high 28 points. Small was 10-17 from the field and
added 6 boards.
The Rams had a tough first half only shooting 26 percent from the
field and entered the break down 48-20. Coming out in the second
half, the Rams changed things up coming out in a full-court press.
Suffolk scored 55 points in the half, but were unable to overcome
the large deficit.
Rivier had five players in double digits in scoring, led by Lance
Bisson who had 25 on the night. Bisson was 6-8 from the field and
11-15 from the free throw line. DJ Poitras had a double-double on
the night with 12 points and 10 defensive rebounds. Joe Granato had
17 points for the Raiders and Nick Bean chipped in with 12.
Freshman Mike
Gibbons (Ringwood, NJ) had 17 points on the night for Suffolk,
going 6-10 from the field, including 5-9 from three-point land.
The Rams are off again until the long weekend when they will play a
home and home series with Johnson & Wales University. The Rams
will host the Wildcats Saturday afternoon at the Regan Gymnasium.
Game time is 2:00 pm.
