Rams Fall on the Road

New Haven, CT - A big first half for Albertus Magnus College proved to be the difference on Saturday as Suffolk Men's Basketball fell on the road to the Falcons 92-80. Senior Brian Small (Stoughton, MA) and freshman Mike Gibbons (Ringwood, NJ) each had 24 points a piece, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons handed the Rams their third loss in a row.

The Falcons jumped out quick getting up by as many as 20 points in the first ten minutes of play. Bobby Leonzo and Francisco Cordova each had 11 points in the first half as the Falcons went into the break with a 51-27 lead.

Suffolk came out quick in the second half going on a 12-0 runs to cut the lead to 5 but that was as close as they would get. Small had 21 points in the second half going 8-13 from the field including 2-4 from 3-point land. Suffolk outscored Albertus Magnus 53-41 in the second period but could not manage to overcome the deficit.

Sophomore Mario Massimino (East Haven, CT) also chipped in 17 points for the Rams.

Suffolk will be back in action again on Tuesday as they host the Raiders of Rivier College at the Regan Gymnasium. Game time is at 7:30 pm.
