Johnson's player bio

Entering his third season on Anthony Del Prete's staff in 2025, Adam Johnson plays a key role in developing Suffolk’s hitters and positional players while also assisting in recruiting efforts.

In 2024, Johnson helped guide an offensive attack that ranked first in the conference in triples (21), second in doubles (97), third in slugging (.460), fourth in hits (420), home runs (36), and runs per game (8.09).

Over his playing career, Johnson totaled 43 hits, 21 RBIs, and 28 runs scored, helping Suffolk compile a 93-78-2 (.544) overall record, including a dominant 44-16 (.733) mark in conference play. Johnson saw action in nine games as a freshman, but as a sophomore in 2013, he received regular reps in the lineup as the designtated hitter, third base, and shortstop and put together a solid offensive campaign batting .318 with seven doubles, one triple, including a .345/.387/.870 slash in conference play. Johnson missed some time in 2014 battling a shoulder injury, but was instrumental in his senior campaign in 2015, leading the Rams to their first GNAC Championship and NCAA tournament appearance in six years, securing the title with a dramatic 4-3 victory over Johnson & Wales in 13 innings. His standout postseason performance earned him GNAC All-Tournament honors, as he recorded four hits and four runs. Defensively, he was flawless at shortstop, going 13-for-13 in chances, while spinning three double plays in a critical 3-2 semifinal win over Saint Joseph’s (Maine).

Before Suffolk, Johnson was a three-sport athlete at Georgetown High School (Mass.), lettering in football, hockey, and baseball. He led the baseball program to three consecutive North Sectional State appearances, securing two titles (2009, 2011). The Cape Ann League All-Star was honored with the Bert Spofford Award, recognizing his leadership and passion for the game.

Now on the coaching side, Johnson brings a deep understanding of player development, advanced metrics, and individualized training programs designed to maximize performance. In addition to his work with the Rams, he serves as Head Coach for Expos Baseball, a premier showcase program based in Danvers, Massachusetts, dedicated to preparing players for the next level both athletically and academically.
