HOW IT HAPPENED
Elms broke open the scoring in the top of the fourth behind a triple and base hit.
Suffolk responded behind in the home half of the fifth frame. Max Martin worked a one-out walk and scored the game-tying run on Sam Armbruster's triple to right field. The Rams scoring did not stop there as they filled the bags with walks before Cole Hilliard wore a pitch to bring the go-ahead run in. From there, Alex Sorenti-Burns, Chris Cimino and Sebastian Lampert plated two runs each to pad the margin to 8-1. Sorenti-Burns and Lampert's RBIs came on singles, while Cimino barreled a double.
The Blazers battled one run back in the top of the sixth thanks to a couple bunts for base hits and stolen bases to trim the gap to six, 8-2.
In the seventh, a one-out double by Andrew Ciaglo gave Elms one last hope of a comeback, but Suffolk's defense backed up Nick Arnett with a fly out to center and a 63 ground ball to lock up the victory.
