Baseball Selected Fifth in CNE Preseason Poll

CNE RELEASE  

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk baseball has been projected to take fifth in the Conference of New England (CNE) Coaches' Poll, released by the league on Thursday. 

The Rams finished with 45 points in to land in front of Hartford (38), Wentworth (27), Gordon (19) and Curry (15). 

Endicott, three-time reigning conference champ, is picked to fourpeat as the Gulls secured 80 points behind eight first-place picks. 

The last first place vote landed on Roger Williams' ballot as the Hawks slid into second with 66 points.  

Western New England (65) and Nichols (50) took spots three and four, respectively, to land in front of Suffolk.

Suffolk is set for its fifth season in the CNE (formerly CCC) and aims to reach the playoffs for the fifth time in as many years. 

Anthony Del Prete is back for his 11th season as the Rams' skipper and will rely on returning Rams Alex Sorenti-BurnsMax IorioMax MartinSam Armbruster and Colin Flynn to lead the way.  

Suffolk's season is set to get underway this Saturday, March 1 with a twinbill at East Boston Memorial Park against Lasell. Game one's first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
