Painter Named D3baseball.com Third-Team All-Region

d3Baseball.com Release | Region II All-Region Team

BOSTON – Harry Painter of the Suffolk baseball team picked up a spot on the D3baseball.com All-Region team as the sophomore was named to the Region II Third Team, the national organization announced.

More than 1,000 players were nominated by Sports Information Directors to the regional ballot, which is in its 11th year, and was distributed to coaching staffs and SIDs to vote for a predetermined number of players in their region. Players chosen to the D3baseball.com All-Region team were eligible for All-American selection, which will be announced Thursday, June 1.

The 39 Region II student-athletes recognized represent 17 different institutions. Painter is one of 14 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) competitors to find his way on the list along with six student-athletes from Salve Regina, five Endicott Gulls and one player from both Gordon and Western New England, respectively.

Painter repeats with an all-region nod from d3Baseball.com. He is the first Ram to do so since Brady Chant '18 threepeated from 2016 through 2018.

Since Suffolk earned its first d3Baseball.com All-Region nod in 2013, the Rams have gone on to take home a dozen all-region accolades (first first-team, two second-team and four third-team). The all-region award is the third of Painter's collegiate career and adds to his trophy case that includes 2022 CCC Player of the Year, a pair of first-team All-CCC nods and one ABCA/Rawlings/NEIBA First-Team All-Region distinction.

In his second season in blue-and-gold, Painter produced 50 hits including 11 doubles and eight jacks on a .347/.392/.604 slash line. The Essex Massachusetts, native brought in a team-best 39 runs and scored 26 himself. On the basepaths he swiped 10 bases.

Painter was pivotal in Suffolk's third straight trip to the CCC Tournament, which featured a marathon, 13-12, 11-inning walk-off win over Gordon in the Play-In Game May 8 and setbacks to eventual CCC Champion, then-No. 4/8 Endicott and Western New England.
