BOSTON – Suffolk baseball travels to Newport, Rhode Island, Friday, April 28 for a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader at RV/20 Salve Regina. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk baseball put its rally caps on in the ninth inning, but No. 5/9 Endicott forced the Rams to keep the winning run at the plate to hand the blue-and-gold a 10-8 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) setback Tuesday at East Boston Memorial Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk's 10-8 setback to nationally ranked Endicott put the Rams at 10-17 on the year and 4-7 in CCC action.  

Harry Painter holds the biggest bat for the Rams with team-leading numbers in hits (44) and RBI (35) behind a .386/.437/.649 slash line and 23 runs scored. Jonny Gilbride and Garret Roberts have each produced 31 hits. The former has brought in 20 runs and scored 27 times himself, while the latter has registered 16 RBI and 19 runs scored. 

The blue-and-gold is likely to return to its weekend starting rotation in George Breslin (5.73 ERA, 44.0 IP, 26 K) and Garret Roberts (5.17 ERA, 40.0 IP, 30 K). 

SEAHAWKS SAYINGS
Salve Regina rides a 16-game unbeaten streak into Friday's twinbill. In that stretch, the Seahawks have outscored their foes, 158-56. Overall this year, SRU has scored 302 runs and held its opponents to 131.  

Matt D'Amato is on the verge of breaking 50 hits with 49 to his credit. He has brought in 25 runs and scored a team-best 37 times. Christina Homa holds 47 hits, 32 RBI and 31 runs scored. Tyler Cannoe completes the top three hitters for SRU with 40 hits, 35 RBI and 34 runs scored.  

Brayden Clark and Graham Jeffries are the usual starters for SRU in conference contests. Clark boasts a 3.48 ERA 54.1 innings pitch in nine appearances, all starts, with 69 strikeouts. Jeffries holds a 4.11 ERA in 50.1 frames of work in 10 games, with 57 punchouts.

• In 24 all-time meetings with Salve Regina, Suffolk holds a 13-11 advantage, despite losing in four straight versus the Seahawks.
