Brigham Named to 2021 Preseason All-NEBJ Division III Team

BOSTON – A week away from first pitch, and a year after having the 2020 season called, Suffolk baseball's Tim Brigham has been tabbed to the 2021 Preseason All-New England Baseball Journal Division III Team, the publication released in its latest weekly insider Friday afternoon edition.

The team is NEBJ's projection of the top player at each position picked from all the New England region programs heading in the 2021 slate.

Suffolk's outfielder from Cape Elizabeth, Maine will enter his final season in blue-and-gold with the Rams set to compete for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) crown for the first time. Brigham brings in a .335 career average, 92 hits, 65 RBI and a pair of GNAC championships with him.

Prior to having the 2020 slate canceled, Brigham boasted his best season at Suffolk in 2019. As a junior, he hit .390 and sat second nationally with 23 doubles, a Rams single-season record. That year, he anchored the team in hits (59) and RBI (42) en route to a spot on the All-GNAC First-Team and a pair of All-New England Honors from the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Rawlings and D3Baseball.com, respectively.

In the 10 games a year ago, Brigham batted .289 with three hits good for two bags, four RBI and nine runs scored.

His most memorable achievement, from what would have been his Suffolk finale, was barreling in the winning run in the last game of the shortened in extra innings to lift the Rams' over Ursinus, 2-1. That walk-off single had Brigham recognized as part of ESPN's Best of Scott Van Pelt's 'Senior Night,' an initiative started by the ESPN anchor to acknowledge college and high school athletes who saw their seasons, maybe playing careers, just … end.

Brigham is the first Ram to be recognized on the preseason list since Brady Chant '18 earned a spot prior to the 2018 campaign.
