BOSTON – Head coach Anthony Del Prete has brought in seven student-athletes to compliment his experienced returners for the 2020 Suffolk baseball season.
The group is made up of four true freshmen – Marc Birbiglia, Corey Frassica, Luke Harder and Caleb Piwnicki. A pair of sophomore transfers Michael James Jr. and Gino Desimone and sophomore Jake Washock.
"We have seven new players added to the 2020 roster for this season," Del Prete said. "Gino (Desimone), a transfer from Framingham State, will give us some needed depth on the left side of the infield, while Marc (Birbiglia) and Luke (Harder) will give us plenty of athleticism in the outfield. All three left handed hitters should give us the ability for added depth off the bench if need be or allow us to diversity and add a mix to our lineup."
Del Prete continued, "Corey (Frassica) from Bridgton Academy will give us much needed depth behind the plate. Calbe (Piwnicki) and Jake (Wahock), two right handed pitchers, should help solidify a deep pitching staff and give us two quality arms in our bullpen."
