BOSTON – Suffolk baseball will play five games of the regular season over a four day stretch beginning Thursday, April 25 with a home tilt versus UMass Dartmouth. From there, the Rams visit Babson for one nine-inning match Friday, April 26, track to Saint Joseph's (Maine) for a GNAC twinbill, Saturday, April 27, and close the action on its home diamond in Eastie against Endicott in a Military Appreciation Game Sunday, April 28.

The Suffolk baseball team will conclude its regular-season schedule in stand-up fashion Sunday, April 28 as the Rams entertain Endicott in a Military Appreciation contest at 1 p.m. at East Boston Memorial Park.

CLOTHING DRIVE
Suffolk baseball senior captain Trevor Lee is conducting a one-day clothing donation drive for the New England Center and Home for Veterans this Sunday, April 27 at the Rams' Military Appreciation Game against Endicott at 1 p.m. at East Boston Memorial Park.

Suffolk baseball fell behind early and never worked its way back as Tufts took down the Rams, 8-4, Tuesday afternoon at East Boston Memorial Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
With five games left on its regular season calendar Suffolk holds a 21-13-1 overall record and is 13-1 versus conference counterparts, good for first in the league standings.
Tim Brigham is the lone everyday hitter producing over a .400 clip, batting .403 with team-high numbers in nearly every offensive category including hits (52), extra-base hits (24) and RBI (38) to go with 20 runs scored. Will Hopkins is also a threat at the plate with 45 hits behind a .381 average with 33 runs scored, 22 runs brought in and 18 stolen bags.
Suffolk's staff has its work cut out for themselves over the next few days. Charles Batchelder (37.0 IP, 3.41 ERA, 38K), Kevin Sinatra (42.0 IP, 6.21 ERA, 24 K), Worth Walrod (40.0 IP, 4.95 ERA, 46 K) are all well rested and look to be in the Rams rotation. George Breslin (15.1 IP, 8K), Parker Browne (24.1 IP, 2.22 ERA, 19K) and Michael Muscarella (19.1 IP, 0.93 ERA, 13 K) are likely to make appearances on the bump as well.
CORSAIRS CATCHUP
UMass Dartmouth surprised No. 7/8 Babson yesterday, 7-5, to move to 13-17 on the season.
Juniors Mike Knell and JR DiSarcina are the most potent at the plate for the Corsairs. Knell has brought in 30 runs off 47 hits including eight bombs behind a .395 connection rate with 35 runs scored himself. DiSarcina's 42 hits, meanwhile are responsible for 13 RBI to go along with 23 runs scored.
On the hill, Matt Cronin is extremely impressive as the junior boasts a 2.10 ERA and 56 Ks as the most experienced UMass arm with 55.2 innings of work under his belt. Tucker Hetherman (3.69 ERA, 28 Ks, 31.2 IP) and Logan Maitland (9.12 ERA, 27 Ks, 24.2 IP) round out the top trio of hurlers for Dartmouth.

- The Corsairs defeated the Rams 4-3 a year ago to hold a commanding 23-7 all-time series lead.
- Suffolk has gone 1-3 versus UMass Dartmouth in Anthony Del Prete's tenure with the lone win coming in 10 innings April 28, 2016.
EYES ON THE GAME
BEAVERS BREAKDOWN
Babson, who sits seventh in the latest ABCA/Rawlings Poll and eighth in the newest D3Baseball.com Coaches Poll, heads into the weeks action 25-5 overall. Prior to hosting Suffolk Friday, the Beavers will take on Keene State in a Thursday tilt.
The threesome of Eric Jaun (36 H, 31 RBI, 24 R), Edward Lehr (35 H, 27 RBI, 23 R) and Jake Oliger (34 H, 30 RBI, 28 R) powers Babson's offensive unit.
Pitching wise, Michael Genaro is hands down the Beavers ace with a 1.00 ERA over seven starts. In 54.0 innings, he has given up just six earned runs and sat down 33 hitters. William Gallagher is Babson's closer with 16.2 frames in 12 appearances. He boasts an ERA of 2.16 with 21 punchouts.
INSIDE THE SERIES
- The Rams renew a rivalry with Babson, meeting for the first time since the 2017 NCAA DIII Regionals where the Beavers defeated Suffolk, 9-1.
- Suffolk trails the all-time series with Babson, 18-27.

EYES ON THE GAME
MONKS MENTIONABLES
Saint Joseph's (Maine) (28-8, 12-2 GNAC) has time off before entertain Suffolk Saturday.
Joey Murphy is the top threat at the dish for the Monks with 54 hits on a .432 batting average for 19 RBI and 38 runs scored. Jared Gagne, who is batting .437, is also a consistent contributor with 52 hits, 26 RBI and 42 runs scored. Greg Emanuelson's 44 hits, meanwhile, have brought in a team-high 46 runs with the catcher powering off 17 extra-base hits including six jacks.
With no action on the calendar for SJC until Saturday, the Monks' staff should be ready to go. Matt Bergeron leads the starting arms with an ERA of 2.25 over 44.0 innings and 27 strikeouts. Grayson Jennings (34.2 IP, 3.12 ERA, 30 Ks), Zach Begin (32.0 IP, 39 K, 5.06 ERA), Jonathan Marchia (22.2 IP, 2.38 ERA, 34 K) and Jonathan Flynn (21.2 IP, 1.25 ERA, 12 K) have also been used in the rotation on the rubber.

- Suffolk has rattled off four straight wins over Saint Joseph's (Maine) including last season's GNAC Championship contest to move to 23-27 all-time versus the Monks.
- A year ago, the Rams swept SJC in the regular-season for the first time since 2008.

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Similar to Suffolk, Endicott (20-13) has a hectic week ahead with three games preceding the Sunday showdown with the Rams.
At bat Matt Bald is the leader as the senior utility player is hitting .384 with 48 hits on the season, 20 RBI and 31 runs scored. Kyle Brennan, who is batting .322, has 38 hits to his credit, a team-best 25 RBI and 23 runs scored. Dan Cacciola has added 30 hits, 18 RBI and 17 runs to an offense that hits .278 as a squad.
With conference contests preceding the non-conference clash with Suffolk, the Gulls top two starting arms in Kevin Gould (1.13 ERA, 47.2 IP, 55 K) and Joseph Oriola (32.0 IP, 2.25 ERA, 31 K) will likely be out of the rotation. Joseph Brown (30.2 IP, 3.82 ERA, 21 K) and Alexander Mandrus (30.0 IP, 3.90 ERA, 18 K) have also proven themselves as stand-up starters for Endicott this season.
WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk baseball trailed 12-6 heading into the top of the seventh and put together a five-run rally, but it would not be enough as Endicott held off the Rams' comeback to take the 12-11 non-conference decision April 3 at North Field.
