PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Brady Chant wore his Suffolk baseball uniform one last time as the senior captain put on the Rams' blue-and-gold on the College Division (Division II/III) team at the 2018 Joe Walsh New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star Game. The centerfielder helped his squad to a comeback 4-4 stalemate with the University Division (Division I) team with a late eighth inning run at McCoy Stadium Friday afternoon.
Chant was featured in the starting line-up and got going right away as he barreled a RBI single to put the College Division on the board in the third inning. Over three innings and two plate appearances, the Warwick, Rhode Island, product went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run scored.
Chant's RBI single and run scored, which both came in the bottom of the third, cut the University's lead to one, 3-2. From there, the team's swapped runs in the fifth before the College Division put one across in the eighth to lock the game at 4-all. Neither team scored in the ninth to end the contest in a 4-4 tie, marking the fourth time and second straight season in NEBIA All-Star history the University and College All Stars finished in a tie.
