BOSTON – The Suffolk baseball team will tangle in midweek GNAC matchups as it is set to clash with Anna Maria and Albertus Magnus. The Rams will first take on the AMCATs Tuesday, April 17 at the New England Baseball Complex at 3 p.m., before taking on the Falcons Wednesday, April 18 at East Boston Memorial Park.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk baseball team held onto a four-run first-inning lead and kept Johnson & Wales from a late comeback to secure a 4-2 win in the nightcap to sweep the GNAC doubleheader at East Boston Memorial Park Saturday night afternoon.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk remained unbeaten in GNAC play as it swept Johnson & Wales to improve to 11-14 overall and 5-0 I league play.  

Brady Chant continues to be the provider at the plate as the senior centerfielder hits .344 with 32 hits, 12 RBI and 20 runs scored. Seth Coiley has contributed at the dish with 26 hits on a .329 connection rate to bring in 10 runs to go along with 12 runs scored.  

On the hill, Mark Fusco has proved to be the top arm as the senior RHP owns a 1.93 ERAS in five starts and 32.2 innings of work behind him with a staff-best 28 strikeouts. Tyler Zell (24.1 IP, 2.59 ERA, 16 Ks), Kevin Sinatra (33.0 IP, 3.00 ERA, 16 Ks), Ryan Pordes (32.2 IP, 6.23 ERA, 22 Ks) and Charles Batchelder (37.2 IP, 4.06 ERA, 18 Ks) complete the starting rotation for Suffolk.  

ABOUT THE AMCATS
Anna Maria is on a three-game skid that put the AMCATs at 10-18 overall and 1-5 in league play.  

Adam Twitchell provides a punch at the plate as the sophomore owns 28 hits on a .373 batting average with eight RBI and 11 runs. Noah Holland has matched Twitchell's hits with 28 of his own on a .326 average for 12 RBI and a team-best 18 runs.  

Southpaw Colin Pipkin has the most experience on the hill with 39.0 innings of work with a 5.08 ERA and 39 strikeouts to his credit. Jack Marzec (27.0 IP, 6.678 ERA, 25 Ks), Liam Cunningham (23.1 IP, 7.33 ERA, 25 Ks) and Andrew Rodriques (23.1 IP, 7.33 ERA, 18 Ks) have all seen over 20.0 frames on the mound for the AMCATs. 

INSIDE THE SERIES
Since the series began in 2012, Suffolk has all, but one meeting with Anna Maria, including 10 straight to hold an 11-1 all-time record over the AMCATs. 

EYES ON THE GAME

FALCONS FACTS
Albertus Magnus shutout Rivier in a GNAC double feature to improve to 6-14 overall and 2-3 in league play.  

Matt Warren holds the most potent bat for the Falcons with the sophomore recording 26 hits on a .406 average to bring in 32 runs and score 16 himself. Tom Crocco and Tyriq Harris' 22 hits apiece are good for second on the squad. The former is batting .361 with 16 RBI and six runs to his credit, while the latter hits .386 with 13 RBI and 19 runs scored.  

Dan Zarnik is statistically the best starting arm for Albertus as the senior brings in a 3.67 ERA to go along with 29 strikeouts through 34.1 innings in six starts and seven appearances.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk has rattled off four wins in a row versus Albertus Magnus include a 7-4 victory over the Falcons two weeks ago to open 2018 GNAC play and improve to 36-8 all-time versus Albertus.

WE MEET AGAIN
The Suffolk baseball team scored at least one run in the first four innings to gain an early advantage it held onto as the Rams raised the curtain of its GNAC calendar with a 7-4 victory over Albertus Magnus at Hamden High School April 7.
