WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Suffolk baseball scored in six innings, including the first two, as the Rams rolled to a 15-3 win over Eastern Connecticut State at Eastern Stadium Wednesday afternoon. 

Suffolk (18-5) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI-single by Jake Frasca. The score ballooned to 5-0 in the second on a two-run single by Seth Coiley and a two-run double by Jon Lapolla. Tim Budd's sacrifice fly brought in a run for the Warriors in the bottom of the inning as the score moved to 5-1 in the Rams' favor. 

A scoreless third was followed by a three-run top of the fourth for Suffolk. Frasca, Drew Carter and Matt Brenner all enjoyed RBI singles to push the Rams' lead t 8-1. Suffolk's offense did not let up despite no score in the fifth and sixth with the blue-and-gold putting together back-to-back two-run innings in the seventh and eighth, respectively. In the seventh, an error plated Brady Chant and Frasca notched his third RBI single of the afternoon. Chant bombed a triple in the eighth to score Cameron and Julien Plana brought in Chant with a ground out as Suffolk's advantage stretched to 12-1. 

Eastern Connecticut faced a new arm, freshman Charles Batchelder, in the bottom half of the inning. With two outs and the Warriors' fourth at bat of the inning came as a bomb, a two-RBI homer by Alex Zachary to cut Suffolk's edge to 12-3.

The Rams' responded in the ninth, however, as freshman Zach Grogan jacked his second home run of his collegiate career and brought in two other runs with him to move the score to 15-3. 

Tyler Zell took over the hill for the final inning and worked a quick stanza with three ground outs, securing Suffolk the 15-3 non-conference triumph.

Coiley (3-for-3, 2R, 3RBI), Frasca (3-for-5, 2R, 3RBI), Chant (3-for-5, 3R, 1RBI) and Lapolla (3-for-6, 1R, 2RBI) each had a trio of hits for the Rams. Four Warriors accounted for Eastern Connecticut's four hits with Zachary credited both RBI. 

Kyle Turner (3-2) picked up the victory on the bump, his third of the season. The senior tossed seven innings, giving up one run on three hits and striking out eight (five looking). 

Eastern Connecticut chopped the game up and used seven pitchers, with Brian Hnatuk started and received the loss after just 1.1 innings of work.

Suffolk has a quick turn around as it returns to the diamond tomorrow after at Massachusetts Maritime. The Rams and Buccaneers are set for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.
