The Suffolk University Baseball team will open the 2015 NCAA Division III Tournament on Wednesday May 13 at 1:15pm against the University of Southern Maine at Whitehouse Field in Harwich, Massachusetts.

Suffolk (18-24) enters the eight team double elimination tournament as the number eight seed and will square off with top-seed and two time defending New England regional champion Southern Maine.

Suffolk qualified for the fifth NCAA appearance in program history as they captured the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship with a 4-3 victory over Johnson & Wales University back on April 26. Southern Maine (31-13) took home the Little East Conference (LEC) championship this past Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Eastern Connecticut State University.

Both teams squared off earlier this season with the Huskies sweeping a doubleheader in Auburndale, Florida as part of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on March 11. The Huskies were victorious 10-6 and 9-5 in their previous meetings on the season.
