Endicott Snaps Baseball's Four Game Win Streak

The Endicott College Gulls (22-11 overall) scored seven times in the fifth inning to cruise to a 14-3 victory over the Suffolk University Rams (17-14 overall) on Thursday evening.

Freshman Drew Dumas (Holden, Mass.) held the Rams to just three hits over seven innings of work on the mound to pick up his second victory of the season while the Gulls hitters collected 17 hits on the evening.

Freshman Jake Northup (Boxborough, Mass.) and junior  Colin Sitarz (West Hartford, Conn.) each collected three hits on the evening as the Gulls pick up their 22nd win of the season.

Endicott got things rolling in the fourth inning as sophomore Mike Griffin (Arlington, Mass.) drove in a pair of runs with an single.

The Gulls would break things open in the fifth inning sending thirteen hitters to the plate. Junior Danny Mello (Peabody, Mass.) and senior Chris Dominguez (Braintree, Mass.) opened the inning with back to back doubles. The big blow would come off the bat of junior Mike Russo (Natick, Mass.) who hit a bases loaded double down the left field line plating three more Gulls. Dominguez would cap the inning off with his second hit of the inning later on, an RBI single.

Freshman Jake Cintolo (Wrentham, Mass.) finished the evening 2-for-5 with an RBI for the Rams, who had their four game win streak snapped.

Cintolo drove in the Rams first run of the game in the sixth with a ground out to second that plate senior Nick Travelyn (Bedford, Mass.) who led the frame off with a triple to deep center.

Senior Andrew Babb (Ashland, Mass.) added an RBI single in the eighth, while freshman Marc Ulian (Marblehead, Mass.) picked up his first RBI of the season with a pinch-hit sacrifice fly in the ninth.

Both teams will play conference double headers on Friday afternoon.

Endicott hosts Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action beginning at 2:00pm.

Suffolk will host Albertus Magnus College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference double header at 4:00pm
