Baseball Sweeps Rivier

The Suffolk University Baseball Team (15-13 overall, 7-3 GNAC) swept a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) double header at the hands of the Rivier College Raiders (3-20 overall, 2-8 GNAC).

Senior Charles Kilgore (Milford, N.H.) threw a complete game three-hit shutout in the nightcap, needing to throw just 56 pitches in the 9-0 victory. Kilgore threw 42 pitches for strikes in the game, facing 22 hitters, just one over the minimum for his second victory on the mound this season for the Rams.

Senior Nick Travelyn (Bedford, N.H.) finished the evening 6-for-7 in the two games combined, including two triples for the Rams.

Suffolk took game one 12-7 as freshman Devan Jones (Roslindale, Mass.) and Travelyn each had three hits to pace a 15-hit Rams attack. Freshman Michael Muse (Milton, Mass.) was 1-for-2 in game one with three RBI as he drove in a pair of runs with a double in the fifth.

Muse also had a pair of RBI in the nightcap with his second double of the evening that highlighted a five run second inning for the Rams.

Senior Mark Annese (Winchester, Mass.) finished the day 3-for-8 with three runs score and three RBI.

Suffolk will be back in action on Wednesday as they take on Lasell College in GNAC doubleheader on Wednesday beginning at 3:30pm at Adams Field in Quincy.
