Doyle, Men's Tennis Earn Weekly GNAC Awards

Senior Marc Doyle (Whitman, Mass.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week on April 13. Doyle fanned a career-high 12 hitters in Saturday’s 6-0 victory over Emerson College. Doyle was dominant throughout the seven inning contest, as the first six outs of the game were all punch outs and he struck out the side once again in the top of the seventh to finish the game. With the win, Doyle pushes his season record to 3-1 and lowers his era to 1.12 in 24 innings of work this season.

Suffolk Men’s Tennis earned a pair of awards this week as well, as the Rams posted a perfect 3-0 record on the week. Senior Diego Alvarado (Boston, Mass.) was named GNAC Player of the Week. Playing out of the one position in singles for Suffolk, Alvardo won all three of his matches this week, and was also perfect in doubles play with freshman Harlan Strader (Marblehead, Mass.).

For his efforts Strader was named GNAC Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row. The freshman is now 6-0 overall on the season, playing primarily out of the four position in singles play for Suffolk. Strader was a perfect 3-0 on the week in singles play this week.

As a duo, Strader and Alvarado are 5-1 together in doubles play this season.
