Two Named to GNAC Weekly Honor Roll for Hoops

Two Suffolk University Basketball players earned recognition by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for the week of December 7.

Sophomore Colin Halpin (Melrose, Mass.) was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season.  Halpin finished the week averaging 23.5 points and eight rebounds for the Rams. Halpin recorded a double-double in Suffolk's 96-88 loss to Johnson & Wales as he scored 25 points with 10 rebounds. Halpin was also Suffolk's leading scorer as he put in 22 in an 81-78 overtime loss to UMass Boston. In eight game this season Halpin is averaging 19.3 points per game, fourth best among GNAC scorers, 7.3 rebounds per game, which is sixth best in the league, while his 55.3 field goal percentage is ranked fifth among GNAC scorers.

Sophomore Jacquline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) was also named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll. Vienneau averaged 14.3 points per game, 8 rebounds, and  6.3 assists per gameover three contests for the Rams last week. Vienneau recorded her first career double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds along with 5 assists in Suffolk's 73-56 win over Nichols College on Saturday.
