Suffolk Athletics Announces 2024 Hall of Fame Class

BOSTON – Stand-out performers, record-setting Rams and a stand-out coach make-up the 10th instalment of the Suffolk University Hall of Fame, the Class of 2024, the Athletics Department announced Tuesday.

The Class of 2024 will be honored in an appreciation dinner Friday, Oct. 18 at Suffolk University’s Sargent Hall Keches Room at 6:00 p.m. Tickets to the celebration can be purchased here.

"We will once again celebrate Suffolk University Athletics and our programs’ history as we induct our tenth Hall of Fame class," Associate Director of Athletics/Head Baseball Coach Anthony Del Prete said. "Our hall of fame is the highest honor bestowed upon an athlete or team who has represented our great institution recognizing their success and accomplishments."

Del Prete continued, "This induction class may be one of our most special evenings to date as it truly encapsulates our athletic program’s history spanning athletes from our initial start through modern day and the most recent decade."

The Suffolk Athletics Hall of Fame honors and perpetuates the memory of athletes, friends, coaches and supporters, which performed and contributed at the highest level of intercollegiate athletic competition, while at Suffolk University. Selection is based primarily on athletic accomplishments, integrity, sportsmanship and character. Individuals other than athletes may be named to the Hall of Fame in recognition of their services and dedication to Suffolk University’s athletic program. The inductees have been selected by a vote of a selection committee of Suffolk Athletics affiliates, including alumni and athletic administrators.

The Class of 2024 of the Suffolk University Athletics Hall of Fame includes four men, three women and one team representing six different athletic programs.

The 10th edition of Suffolk Athletics Hall of Famers includes National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First-Team All-District Erin McAndrews, BS ’14. Also from the diamond is baseball’s winningest head coach, current Director of Athletics Cary McConnell.

Three 1,000-point scorers in men’s basketball’s Winston Daley, BSBA ’02 and Jake Stahl, BSBA ’53 and women’s basketball’s Jennifer (Ruys) Baker, BS ’14, will take their rightful spots.

The hard-hitting tennis racket of Jennifer Nelson, BSBA ’08, who was inducted alongside her 2007 women’s tennis teammates, will go in individually after a stand-out career that features a pair of GNAC Player of the Year distinctions.

Ben Rollins, BSE ’13, captain of the lone men’s soccer squad in University history to reach the NCAA Tournament, will be the second-ever men’s soccer player enshrined.

The team category features the first Suffolk intercollegiate baseball team. The 1947 squad went 9-1 under the direction of Hall of Famer Charles Law
