
BOSTON – Join Suffolk Athletics and Suffolk University's Leadership and Resiliency Coach Jamey Mroz on World Mental Health Day, Thursday, Oct. 10 for Harnessing Stress: Turning Pressure into Power for Student-Athletes.
There will be two sessions at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court in the basement of the Ridgeway Building starting at 10 a.m., with the second scheduled during activity period at 12:15 p.m. Lunch will be provided to all attendees following the conclusion of the second session at 1:30 p.m.
The hour-long workshop(s) will help student-athletes discover how stress, often seen as a negative force, can be transformed into a powerful tool for success. The five principles to reframe an individual's mindset, balance recovery with engagement and channel stress into productivity will all be discussed, and participants will walk away with practical techniques to turn stress into a catalyst for focus, growth and high performance.
Mroz has set out to lay a foundation for success through teaching leadership skills that will empower individuals and teams to exceed their potential through harnessing and directing their mind.
His experience coaching at every level, from professional athletes (MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, PGA), executive leadership, to elementary school students, has taught him valuable lessons in leadership, organizational development, mindset management, and performance.
Before starting his own business, Mroz worked for the Cleveland Browns as the Director of Sports Science. Prior to that he worked with Ignition APG the Cincinnati Bengals, Vanderbilt University, New York Giants, New York Jets, Southeastern Louisiana University, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, as well as Boston College and Harvard University football.
