BOSTON – In lieu of the cancellation of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2020-21 winter season, Suffolk Athletics is proud to unveil our "Ram of the Week" Award, which will be presented every Monday to one student-athlete from the four competing teams, voted by Ram Nation via Twitter poll.
AND THE WINNER IS…
Garnering 40.2 percent of the 82 Twitter votes women's hockey's Julia Volpe will take home the first-ever Ram of the Week nod.
Volpe's goal with just eight seconds remaining in the second period was the boost the Rams needed to hold off Nichols in its condensed season opener, helping Suffolk scoop up a 5-3 victory at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink. The forward finished day one of her junior season with two points. In addition to her game-winning goal, the assistant captain assisted on the first strike of the outing, put away by linemate Cassidy Gruning just 27 seconds into the action.
Suffolk's win over Nichols was not only the first over the Bison in program history, but marks the first time in the Rams' record books that the blue-and-gold lifted the lid on a campaign in the win column.

In a 2-0 weekend for the Rams, Jacovides cashed in 43 points, shooting 8-for-16 from three-point land, and grabbed 22 caroms in the weekend sweep of Nichols, which included a 117-96 decision, the most points put up by the blue-and-gold since 1994.
3RD PLACE – 24.4 % of Votes - Alex Kolowrat – Men's Hockey
1 GP – 3 Goals
Alex Kolowrat made the most of being back in action by producing a natural hat trick to anchor Suffolk men's hockey to a 5-3 victory over Nichols Sunday. The sophomore is the first Ram to score three goals in a single outing since Justin Selep '16 did so Jan. 9, 2016 at Franklin Pierce. The win marks the blue-and-gold's 10th straight season opening victory.

2 GP – 14.0 PPG – 7.5 RPG – 9.0 APG – 1.5 APG
Jenni-Rose DiCecco was a main ingredient to Suffolk's 1-1 weekend versus Nichols. The senior floor general aided to the Rams' convincing 101-46 season-opening victory over the Bison on day one, which marked the third-ever 100-point game in the Rams' record books. Over the two games, DiCecco logged 28 points, 15 rebounds, 18 assists and three steals.
