BOSTON – When sports came to a screeching halt Suffolk University sports, across the board, had or were in the process of doing some remarkable things.
Women's hockey just skated in the program's first-ever championship contest in just its sophomore season. Emily Manfra of women's indoor track & field was on the eve of running at NCAA Division III National Championships. Baseball's and softball's seasons were just getting underway, while men's tennis, outdoor track & field and men's and women's golf await their spring campaigns.
If contests continued after March 13, who knows how many stunning, record-setting performances the Rams may have put on display for Ram Nation; a lot over three months, no doubt.
But still what was displayed up until the fateful COVID-19 shutdown in competition, the classroom and the community was extraordinary.
