BOSTON – Suffolk Hall of Famer and men's basketball standout Christos Tsiotos was recognized by his high school Friday night as Winthrop High School dedicated its home basketball court, the Chris Tsiotos Court. 

There were over 1,000 reasons that Tsiotos sealed up his fate as one of the greatest to don blue-and-gold as he was inducted into the Rams' Hall of Fame as a member of the 2009 Class. The 6-foot-6 center, who was for his consistently hard-working and durable play at both ends of the hardwood, is the only Suffolk player to score both 1,000 points (1,639; fourth on the University's all-time scoring list) and pull down 1,000 rebounds (1,016). 

The talented Tsiotos shaped his skills at Winthrop High School where he also stands as one of the greatest basketball players in the Vikings annals. He averaged 28.5 points per game for the Vikings when they were perennial Northeastern Conference Champions in the early 1970s and were among the powerhouses in schoolboy circles in the North Shore. 

After his days at Winthrop, he suited up for Suffolk from 1973-77, leading the Rams to three consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearances (1975-77) as a two-time Division III All-New England selection. 

Tsiotos went on to continue his career professionally in Greece. 

He is a member of both the Winthrop High School Hall of Fame and the AHEPA Athletic Hall of Fame. 

A graduate of Suffolk University and Suffolk University Law School, Tsiotos is known more today for his work in a court than on a court. He is an established lawyer in Winthrop.
