Rams Rewind: Women's Golf September 10, 2017

BOSTON – Ram Nation now has the chance to get a glimpse into Suffolk Athletics history though clippings and pictures from the Rams’ record books and archives.

On this date, September 10, 2017, the University’s second-ever year with a women’s golf program, the Rams hosted their first-ever home match when they entertained Rhode Island College at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts.

Multiple firsts were checked off for the blue-and-gold on that Sunday: first competition of the 2017-18 season, first home match in program history, and the program’s first-ever win. The victory came behind an 18-hole 354 team score, while the Anchormen shot 371.

Then a freshman, today’s team’s captain, Brooke Chapman made the most of her collegiate debut with an 83, four strokes ahead of the rest of the field for the individual crown.

Iselle Venture was one of those golfers falling behind Chapman in a three-way share of second with and 87. Aine Dillon and Olivia Spiega rounded out the Rams’ point earns with an 88 and 96, respectively. Dillon landed fifth, while Spiega took home sixth in the field of 10.
