To my teammates,

I could not thank you enough for the endless memories you have given me. I can't believe I am writing this reflection to you guys and that my time at Suffolk is coming to a quick end. It is impossible to put into words the things you have done for me, but I am going to give it a shot, and take the time to thank you for everything you have done for me, and taught me.

My time on the team was nothing short of incredible. People usually base success on the number of trophies and medals you have, which is always a nice touch, and although we won the GNAC and CCC for indoor and outdoor my sophomore year, I weigh my success on something much more important. I measure it on the friends I have made along the way, and the second family I have gained through Suffolk cross country and track and field.

I want to thank coach Will Feldman, for initially recruiting me and believing in me. He backed me up and stood by no matter what, even when I missed practice three days a week for clinic. He allowed me to stay on the team as long as I put the work in on my own, and although it was never easy, I did so. Not just for myself, but for my teammates and especially for coach. He gave me the chance to continue my running career, and I could not thank him enough.

To the distance boys, you guys are some of the hardest working men I have ever met. Through the heat, snow, rain or any New England weather that can come your way, you run and workout, and you do it with a smile on your face. You guys had my back no matter what, and I cannot thank you guys enough for that.

I am beyond grateful for so many people on the team that I have the pleasure calling my friends. I would not have been able to meet these incredible people without the Suffolk track team, which is another reason to love track so much.

A special shoutout to a few people that really helped shape me and looked out for me through my time on the team:

Tim (Barry), thank you for always being the kid to rip a quick summer double with me, and always making sure I'm not burning the candle at both ends. Regionals with you junior year was something I will never forget, taking it all in.

Kely (Maloney), the biggest women's hockey fan I know. You were always there to talk me through anything I needed, involving and not involving track. I know I can always count on you “brotha.”

Nico (Miele), always there for a good laugh. Although we should never be allowed to side quest together, some of my favorite memories are from our forbidden side quests.

(Jacob) Dubin, you're a goat. One of the hardest working kids I know, and always there to lend a helping hand. Just run, man, faster than the guy next to you. It's easy.

Shea (Duffy), the beast of the weightroom. Always checking in on me and being the first person to help no matter the situation.

Turner (Mitchell), even though you and Tim are mortal enemies, you're a true day one. You are one of the funniest kids I know and you have grown and changed so much in the best way possible.

(Luke) Sikora, you're the first friend I made before I even came to suffolk. No matter what, you had a huge impact on me. You always had my back, the loyalty knew no bounds, truly.

Emily (Concepcion), you're one of the best people I have met through the team. Never doubting my ability and always pushing me to work harder, but also making sure I wasn't becoming overwhelmed, keeping me balanced.

So many more people I could thank, but I do have a word limit …

Thank you to my family for always being there, and as my family always says, thank you for driving two hours one way to watch me run for less than five minutes. Your support has been endless and I could not thank you enough. I love you Mom, Dad, Grammy, Grampy, Kendall and Cooper. The six people that watched me run my first cross country meet when I was 11, and watched my last one at 22.

Thank you Suffolk. For not just the trophies, but the family you gave me. CG out.
