Reflecting on my time at Suffolk University ...

Just a few things I immediately think back on ...

  • the original ATR/Laundry Room
  • revamping the Athletic Training Program with a brand new ATC staff
  • being a part of a brand new sports program (and attempting to learn/understand “hockey lingo”)
  • sharing a “summer office” with ALL of my coworkers
  • spring break trips to Florida (BUDDYYY!!!)
  • providing input for a brand new ATR and then managing work within the construction zone
  • traveling to my first ever championship (and a few playoff appearances)
  • and of course ... the pandemic

Needless to say, its been a wild three years!!! Silver lining ... all of the obstacles and challenges has not only allowed me to grow as a clinician and as a person, but it also strengthened the bonds I have with my co-workers and my athletes.

To all of the coaches I have worked with, thank you for an amazing three years. Thank you for supporting and embracing the changes we have made to the AT Program. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your team and for making me feel as such!

Jackie, Taylor, and Ashley, you are three of the strongest and most fierce coaches I have ever met/worked with and I am so proud of you guys for all your success, individual wins, for building up your programs, and for demonstrating what it looks like to be a leader. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of it all for the last three years!

Rick and Nick, it’s been a team effort and I honestly couldn’t imagine the past three years without you guys! You both are fantastic clinicians, amazing co-workers, and have become great friends! Thank you for always having my back and for making the work environment fun. Rick, you have absolutely crushed the Head ATC role! I have greatly appreciated the leadership and mentorship you have provided over the past few years.  I am incredibly lucky to have worked with you both and will miss you tremendously!!

To my athletes ... I am so grateful for each one of my teams and will miss you all so much! There was never a dull moment with any of my teams. You guys have challenged me, trusted me, confided in me, have allowed me to share the celebrations of the big wins, and have made me feel some of the big losses. Thank you for the hours and dedication you have put in, as well as the laughs and memories along the way. You guys have made my job so incredibly fun and have reminded me on a regular basis why I love this career. Thank you for allowing me (and Blake Dog!) to be a part of your team. I wish you all the best of luck in the remainder of your collegiate careers!!!

Lastly … Amy Barry, you are the GOAT.

Thank you Suffolk University and Ram Nation!!!
