Letter to a freshman:

Take it all in. Every practice, every game, every bus ride, every team dinner. As a freshman, you’ll hear it all the time, that “four years will fly by”. You shrug it off, because four years is a long time. But they’re right; it will go by before you know it. I remember walking onto the court my first preseason. I didn’t know anyone; I was simply there to play the sport I love. I didn’t know it at the time, but that day I was given an automatic group of 16 friends. Over the course of the years, I was able to develop friendships that I will still have after I leave Suffolk. My best advice is this: you are not at college just to earn a degree. Try new things, explore new parts of the city, meet people from all over the globe, spend a semester abroad, and grow into someone who is ready to take on the world. We are all here to become who we were meant to be.

Whoever said that high school was the best four years of your life, never went to college. I cannot thank Suffolk enough for allowing me to grow into the woman, athlete, and individual that I am today.
