Beginning in the fall of 2016, I had the incredible opportunity to play on the men’s soccer team, while starting my college education at Suffolk University. Before arriving at Suffolk, I was hesitant in making such a large commitment to the soccer program, as I knew I would have to manage my time effectively to balance school and soccer. I had been playing soccer all of my life, so it seemed natural for me to continue on into the collegiate stage. This decision to continue and join the Suffolk men’s soccer program was easily the greatest decision of my life.

Starting in my freshman year, I was immediately embraced by coaches, as well as the entire team. As time progressed, I learned how valuable the bonds with my teammates were, as they had all become my best friends. Through wins and losses, we had our ups and downs, but what remained the same was our friendships, comraderies, and commitment to the team.

I couldn’t imagine my Suffolk experience without my teammates and coaches. This program has gifted me so much for which I am forever grateful. Over four years, our group battled through adversity and lifted the expectations that were set upon us. I couldn’t be prouder of my team, and I am excited to see how the program progresses in the future.

To my teammates: enjoy your time as a Suffolk Ram. Cherish the early morning practices, workouts, summer fitness, and the beep test. It really doesn’t hit you until the final whistle of your last game.

To my coaches: thank you for giving me such an incredible opportunity to continue playing the game that I love. I am so grateful for the relationships we have made. I also would like to thank our athletic trainer, Richard Cox. Rick, thank you for devoting your time and care to our team. We really appreciate all the efforts you do to keep us fit, and of course, strong Rams.

To my family: thank you for taking me to and watching all of my games, tournaments, and giving me the chance to go to England with my team. I would not have been able to enjoy a collegiate career without you and for that I am forever indebted.

I wish my chapter as a Suffolk Ram did not have to end, but I am certain the future is bright for not only the men’s soccer program, but the athletic department as a whole. With the generous donations of Michael and Larry Smith, Suffolk athletics has been able to reach new heights. I am so proud to have been a part of the Suffolk athletic program, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
