BRIDGEWATER, MASS. -- The Bridgewater State College Bears posted a 6-3 decision over Suffolk University in non-conference men's tennis action this afternoon at the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts in Bridgewater.

Bridgewater State took four out of six singles matches and two of the three double as the Bears improved to 7-5 on the season.  Suffolk falls to 5-3 with the loss.

Senior Matt Charest (Somerset, MA) paced the Bears as he posted a 6-1, 6-1 straight set win at number one singles.  Charest also teamed with freshman Duncan Yarworth (Wrentham, MA) for an 8-0 first flight doubles victory.

Yarworth also battled to a tough three set triumph (2-6, 6-2, 6-1) at second singles, while fellow freshman Mike Zagame (Uxbridge, MA) and sophomore David Campbell (Vineyard Haven, MA) posted straight set wins at fifth and sixth flight singles respectively.

Sophomores Justin Lipomi (Lowell, MA) and Nick Amrose (Arlington, MA) paired up for a 9-7 victory at third doubles.

Sophomore Justin Ayoub (Brooklyn, NY) and senior Garrett Freeman (Beacon, NY) were the lone singles winners for the Rams, while freshman Chris Staley (London, England) and senior Nisarg Patel (Ahemedbad, India) teamed up for an 8-4 triumph at second doubles.

The Bears will host Little East Conference rival Salem State College on Saturday at noon.  Suffolk travels to Albertus Magnus College on Saturday for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match with the Falcons.
