  • Del Prete, Sinatra Honored at East Boston Athletic Board Banquet of Champions

    Suffolk baseball’s East Boston natives, head coach Anthony Del Prete and freshman hurler Kevin Sinatra were recognized Monday night at the 66th annual East Boston Athletic Board Banquet of Champions at Spinelli’s Banquet Hall. Del Prete was given the Walter Spriggs Coach of the Year Award, while Sinatra won The James A. Sartori Achievement Award for a Collegiate Athlete.
  • 54 Rams Earn Academic All-GNAC Status

    The GNAC has announced the names of 865 student-athletes – including 54 from Suffolk – who have been named to the 2015-16 Academic All-GNAC Team. The 54 Rams represent the second most all-time for the blue-and-gold and is just two individuals shy of the record (56) since the inaugural team in 2008.

  • 144 Earn Spring 2016 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll

    A total of 144 Suffolk University student-athletes have earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the 2016 Spring Quarter. To make the Director’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.0 and pass at least 12 quarter units.
  • Baseball Lands Quartet on NEIBA All-Region Teams

    Four Suffolk baseball players were honored by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) with all-region selections for the 2016 season. Suffolk finished the season with a 33-13 overall record winning the program’s sixth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship earning a consecutive bid into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

  • Baseball Slips to Top-Seeded Wheaton, 6-5, in NCAA Northeast Regional

    Trailing 5-0, Suffolk baseball turned up the volume in the sixth with multiple run homers from Seth Coiley and Jake Frasca to level the elimination game against top-seeded Wheaton in the second round of the 2016 NCAA DIII New England Baseball Regional. The Lyons brought in the winning run in the top of the ninth, however, eliminating the Rams.

    The Suffolk baseball team concluded its non-conference slate with its longest game of the year Thursday afternoon, topping UMass Dartmouth, 3-2, in 10 innings, for its seventh straight victory. Freshman Jake Frasca delivered the game-winning home run with an opposite field blast in the top of the 10th, breaking up the 2-2 tie since the end of the eighth.

    Thanks to some heavy hitting and big innings, the Suffolk baseball team secured a series sweep of Anna Maria Sunday night at NE Baseball Complex. The Rams (26-9, 10-2) belted out 12 runs on 18 hits to overcome the AMCATS (8-26, 4-8 GNAC) in two games, 6-1 and 6-3.
