Sinatra Throws His Way to GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Kevin Sinatra of the Suffolk baseball was named GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week thanks to his finesse on the mound in a 6-1 victory at Anna Maria Sunday the league office announced Monday afternoon.

On the mound, the freshman from East Boston, Massachusetts, was lights out, dealing a complete-game performance. The freshman struck out two, allowed just one run on three hits, while issuing just one walk to show his command and earn the win with his meager 1.29 ERA.

The weekly award is the second of Sinatra's career as he was recognized as the conference's best hurler over a seven day stretch March 28. The recognition was also Suffolk's ninth of the season as Jake Frasca has been named rookie of the week twice, Worth Walord earned two pitcher of the week honors and Brady Chant, Drew Carter and Jon Lapolla all were tabbed player of the week.

Suffolk is back in action this afternoon in a non-conference contest at Salve Regina with first pitch slated for 3:30 p.m.
